And Matisse and Calder and …

Our group traveled the few miles from Nice, France to St. Paul de Vence to eat dinner at Colombe D’Or. The hotel and restaurant served as a refuge for artists during and after the German occupancy of France. Many paid their bills or homage to their hosts with pieces of art.

One of many Calders, incorporating the family name of the owners. There are the famous mobiles and pieces by the whole Calder family.

The food is also a work of art. Flaming souffles!
