This is what we think of when we decide to live on a Caribbean Island

Ocean view from the deck
Megayacht sailing past Tonic Waters

Warm mornings sipping coffee while watching the beautiful yachts sail or motor past.

This is what we also get,

Furniture in the pool

December winds that blow the patio furniture into the pool, pool toys into the garden, and the beach and garden back into the pool.

I came outside late last night to find my lounges tipped over the deck edge and with their feet in the pool and cushions all over.

(It was very dark & late, so sorry, no midnight pictures.)

I pulled everything back up onto the patio and retrieved the cushions. I was able to rescue a small table that was mostly underwater, but accessible from the bench that runs the length of the pool. I shoved everything together against the patio doors, hoping to protect them from more whirlwinds.

When I walked out this morning, the mega yacht and small cruiser, the Emerald Sakura, was, um, cruising by Nail Bay, passing along the Sir Francis Drake Channel on its way to the waters and beaches north of Virgin Gorda.

Here’s a screenshot of the current map of local vessels, borrowed from the Marine Traffic app.

and from the Cruise Mapper website,

Paradise, right?

But there in at the bottom of the pool was a second patio table and a bit of the garden, too.

So…paradise comes with grabbing the pool net and fishing for furniture and scooping out bamboo leaves. Before my coffee!

This life is still as close to paradise on Earth as I’ve ever found!
